This is in fact a Caprese Salad done on the quick. Satisfying and timeless but also ever so simple to put together, this dish is priceless. For tastiness you have the creamy and unctuous Mozzarella then the sweet acidity of the Tomatoes. Lavish it more to get even more out of it... It is that simple.

Ingredients

Mozzarella Ball, 1, sliced.

Baby Plum Tomatoes, a dozen, cut in half. A variety of colours like yellow, red and orange make the plate more fun and attractive.

A handful of Cress.

A drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

A drizzle of Balsamic Vinegar.

A little Sea Salt and Cracked Back Pepper.

A little Thyme Leaves.

Some Basil Leaves.

Optional: Oregano, Capers.

 

Steps

This Snack is very easy to realise. It is also satisfying to be able to do it so quickly.

First you do need a good Mozzarella Ball made from Buffalo Milk. Drain it from the liquid from the packet then just slice it evenly. You should have about six to seven slices from a ball of Mozzarella of a thickness of about one centimetre each. Put the slices as you like on the plate.

The Mozzarella is creamy and delivers Calcium which is beneficial for the bones.

Then comes the turn of the Tomatoes to be cut in half and to be placed upon the plate. Baby Plum Tomatoes with a variety of colour render that Snack more attractive. But it is up to you to try different type of Tomatoes. I tried it once with a variety called Bumblebee Tomatoes which I grow sometimes in my garden and it was delish.

For the pepperiness to be added to the dish use a little Cress. It grows very easily but it is also found in shop in little punnet that can be kept by a window. They are useful to add an extra note to lots of dishes. 

Tender Thyme Leaves, so stalk bits, give a fragrant flavour, but so does the Basil which transform the Salad to a Caprese one. Oregano also can be considered.

For consideration comes the Capers which can add a welcomed saltiness. But they are for some an acquired taste to have.

The seasoning is just cracked Black Pepper and some Sea Salt.

Then finish the Salad with a drizzle of Olive Oil and one of Balsamic Vinegar.

At the end you have a delicious Snack Salad to enjoy.
