This Green Tomatoes Side is perfect for an Al Fresco evening enjoying a BBQ. It is simple yet flavoursome but also involves no cooking at all. It goes very well with Beef, grilled Beef or Beef Skewers.

Putting it all Together
Green Tomatoes Side Salad.
Timing
  • Preptime: 10-15 minutes. Assemblage.
  • Cooktime: None.
  • Servings: 2-4 portions
Ingredients

Tomatoes, Green, 12 to 24. Cut in halves.

3 to 4 Grated Carrots. Shoe string consistency.

4 cm piece of Ginger, peeled and cut into Matchsticks.

A good pinch of Garlic Salt.

A good Pinch of Black Pepper.

White Wine Vinaigrette.

Optional: 1 Espelette Chilli Pepper, sliced. 2 to 3 large Spring Onions (Purple), sliced. A chopped bunch of Parsley or Coriander.

 

 

Steps

First cut the Green Tomatoes in half.

Wash and Peel the Carrots before grating them into strings shapes.

Peel and either slice or grate the Ginger in matchticks size.

Slice the Chillies and add to the Salad bowl with the other Ingredients.

If using, chop the Spring Onions and the Parsley or Coriander then add them to the bowl.

Make the White Wine Vinaigrette. A Rice Wine one could work as well. There is two options here either pour it into the Salad Bowl or keep it in a jug for everyone to help themselves to it.

Toss the Salad gently together in order to not break any Green Tomatoes. 

Then the rest is to present it and eat it with your Guests.
