Of course the Festive Season lands itself to be very Merry. The expression Merry Christmas was probably created to that intent: be joyous, to loosen up a little bit and be a little merry once or twice a year.

Christmas gatherings are a way to relax and to entertain one another and a glass in hand did become some sort of social bond wishing everyone the best by saying Cheers. It is about connection but also knowing that you are included in that social circle/group.

The matter of fact is that it doesn't have to always be Champagne being poured into a glass, and it doesn't have to be alcohol. The realm of Drinks is wide and colourful. You can surf the wave of a sparkling Mocktail or enjoy a very fruity and juicy non-alcoholic Punch nowadays. They are not less fashionable they are safer and healthier (but mind the Sugar content).
