A Selection of Turkey, Turkey Cuts and Products

Turkey is one of the most traditional Birds. One just has to think of Thanksgiving or Christmas to associate the idea of a Turkey Roast to those Feasts. First of all a Turkey is a large Bird which can feed many. Secondely it is about the economy of Turkey.

Roast Turkey can always be festive.

To cook an entire piece of Meat is a lavish affair. To prepare it is the Shakespearean question of 'to stuff it or to not stuff it?'. This is the question. To return to the economy of it all and in the matter of feeding a crowd then the answer 'to stuff it' makes perfect sense. It is making the most of a good Bird to give a pleasuring and fulfilling Meal to a Family and Friends.

Sample of an about to be made Stuffing of Breadcrumbs, Hazelnuts, Cranberries, dried Apricots and  chopped Pistachios. Stuffing is a good idea to impart lots of flavour to a Meat.

One important factor is to keep the big Bird moist and tender. One major complaint about Turkey is its tendency to dry out if cooked for too long. But there are ways to tackle that matter: Stuffing being one of them, also wrapping partly during the cooking. However if there are any leftovers of a dry Bird, no one seems to care and can still enjoy them the following day in a lovely Sandwich for example.
